Westward Wind Kite Club will be holding a demo over the weekend of the 13th &14th of October at Westward Ho!

We will have kit to demo (more info to follow)
Low tides in the afternoon plus we are on Springs so its a real big beach
We hope to have the Ramp out again (Bigger & Better this year we hope!) & we will be holding some very short course pursuit style 1 vs 1 Racing in small buggys.

...and the beach is fully open from the 1st October so we will have to whole length of the beach to play on
All you need to come and play on the beach is Insurance (BPKA, BKSA, SWATK)

Heres a Vid i made of last year to give you a flavour of whats going on

The summer season has started on Westward Ho! Beach so the restrictions are now in place.

This doesnt seem to stop some people ignoring the rules set up by Torridge District Council for the SAFE use of all users.

KEEP TO THE 100m NO FLY ZONE FROM THE RIDGE

NO SETTING UP KITES, FLYING LAUNCHING OR LANDING IN THE 100M BANNED AREA AT ANYTIME EVEN IF THE BEACH IS EMPTY!!
To many Kitesurfers are ingnoring the 100m banned area and setting up, launching, landing in the incorrect place.
Also to many land kiters are also ignoring this banned area
....THIS MUST STOP OR WE WILL GET BANNED.
You cant just spill over the ridge and do what you like, there are rules set out by the council, you MUST walk 100m on to the beach....if there isnt 100m of beach YOU SHOULD NOT BE FLYING AS ITS NOT SAFE FOR YOU OR MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC USING THE BEACH!

NO FLYING IN THE CAR PARKS ON THE GRASS OR ON THE GOLF COURSE AT ANY TIME, NO SETTING UP YOUR KITES IN THE CAR PARKS

This weekend people were kiting on the grass and the golf course!
THIS WILL GET US BANNED VERY QUICKLY

KITESURFERS KEEP OUT THE SWIMMING ZONE 24hrs a DAY 7 Days a week!!!
...no flying any further towards the town end than the green lifegaurd hut.

THIS IS OUR ONLY LOCAL SITE FOR LAND USE AND ONLY ONE OF A COUPLE FOR WATER US, SO IF VISITORS TO THE BEACH WONT PLAY BY THE RULES THEN THE BEACH WILL BECOME MEMBERS ONLY WITH RESTRICTED NUMBERS AND FURTHER TIGHTER RESTRICTION WILL COME INTO PLAY SUCH AS A FULL BAN ON ALL KITESPORTS BETWEEN MAY AND SEPTEMBER.

ITS UP TO US ALL TO HELP KEEP THIS SITE OPEN, IF YOU SEE PEOPLE IN THE WRONG PLACE OR NOT PLAYING BY THE RULES YOU NEED TO SPEAK TO THEM! NOT JUST IGNORE IT...
... AND IF ONE OF YOUR FRIENDS IS ONE OF THE LOCALS OR VISITORS WHO KEEPS FLAUNTING THE RULES THEN YOU MUST TELL THEM OR LOSE THE SITE...SIMPLE!

WWKC FUN DAY

Saturday 19th May we are having a club fun day so we want to get as many club members down onto the beach. We are planning to hold 3 events;

Pursuit. Buggies or boards, 3 laps head to head around a diamond shaped course.

Team Relay race, 1 buggy and 1 kite per team.

There will also be some of the new boards from
